Maxim is a blatantly Roman name that traces back to an old Roman surname, Maximus, which literally means "the greatest". There was a saint and monk with this name who is said to have lived in 7th century Constantinople. Ironically, this Maxim will never be "the greatest" since he is only eligible to compete in companion shows due to the vibrance of the red in his coat. Argh, I wish it were not so, Maxim!
