Lord Byron is a foundation stud for a joint kennel between myself and Jinu of Double Villanelle - Joythorne Standard Poodles. Joythorne itself is a mixture of the names of our two favorite writers, James Joyce and Nathaniel Hawthorne, respectively. Lord Byron (yes, his full name is LORD Byron, not just Byron) is named for none other than the darling of the Romantic period, George Gordon Noel Byron, Lord Byron, the 6th Baron, a man who wrote such masterworks as Don Juan and Childe Harolde's Pilgrimage, as well as being renowned for his sexual promiscuity (he was believed to have slept with some 300 women as well as some men, including his half-sister Augusta Leigh.) He also had a pet bear.
