I hexed this kitty (just added a few spots really) to resemble his namesake, the maneki neko, which means beckoning cat. It's a Japanese symbol of a cat with its paw raised that you often see as figurines. And his call name, Kou, means luck or happiness, which is what the maneki neko is said to bring, as well as wealth and customers to your business. I know that male calicos aren't possible IRL (accept for the occasional sterile mutation with an extra x chromosome) but for this vary reason the maneki neko is often portrayed as male, so I wanted mine to be male. Plus it's fun to have male calicos in petz cuz you can't have them IRL.
