Landry is, embarrassingly enough, a teacher in my school's surname. I can assure you that I did not have him in mind when I named this Landry. Landry derives from the older Greek name Leander, which roughly translates into "lion of a man". In Greek myth, the drowning of Leander incited the suicide of his lover, Hero.
