Notes

The Black & White Shorthair is a fierce hunter with a strong working prey drive. They are intelligent, driven and reserved, with a strong independent streak. Originally known for their signature tuxedo pattern, two different ideas of what defined the Black & White emerged, with one side stressing the “black” while the other stressed the “white”. The two varieties of B&WS accepted today reflect this: Black emphasizes that the cat’s primary coat colour is black, with white spotting; AOV is for catz with any allowed solid coat colour, with the traditional tuxedo pattern.

The Black & White Shorthair is a breed invented by PF Magic for the Petz games, likely inspired by American and British Shorthairs. The standard has been developed by PKC.

Type & judging remarks
Aggression in this breed is not penalized, and a fierce show pose is preferred. White tailtips are allowed without fault, and chest patches are optional.
