Notes

Often described as the lazy person’s Persian, the Exotic is a heavily-boned, well-balanced cat with a sweet expression and soft, round lines. Their short, dense, plush coat has all the luxury of the Persian’s coat in a much more manageable length. Their conformation is identical to the Persian, although Exotics tend towards a slightly larger size than their longhaired counterparts. They share the sweet, quiet Persian personality, although with a little added spice that makes them a slightly more active and vocal companion than the parent breed. Breeders say that Exotics do everything before the Persians get around to it; certainly they are a little smarter and a little busier! Like the Persian, they are a ground-dwelling cat who is neither comfortable nor good at jumping or climbing. Exotics make excellent house pets, especially in apartments, and greatly enjoy both human and feline company.

Type & judging remarks
Apart from coat, identical to the Persian. They should be short and round: short, cobby legs on a short, well-developed body, with a short, bottle-brush tail. The face is a perfect circle with the nose directly in the centre and the eyes level on either side, and the ears small, round, and set into the corners of the circle. Asymmetry of the facial structure is a severe fault.
