Notes

The Tabby is a classic Petz breed, defined by its pattern. PF Magic, like many people, thought that cat colours were each separate breeds, and the Tabby is perhaps the most clearly defined. The word “tabby” is a Middle English word for a type of watered silk taffeta with a gentle striping effect – much like the gentle striping seen on the archetypal orange tabby cat. The Tabby is a sweet, affectionate cat with a wide, open expression. It is friendly and intelligent, known to perform tricks, and brings a lively spirit to mixies.

The standard for the Tabby was developed by PKC. Originally accepted in unhexed variations only, the Tabby now accepts a wide variety of tabby patterns and colours.

Type & judging remarks
The Tabby should be a very happy-going cat with a friendly expression and wide open eyes. The body is lithe yet powerful, with moderate boning. Balance should be the keyword, and the cat should be without extremes.
